What is the value of your life? I believe this is a question few people can answer, and even fewer have ever bothered to think about it. Today I’d like to share the experience of a young boy who sought to find out the answer to this question from his grandmother. Here goes...

The Attitude Difference

Two weeks ago right here on this column, I wrote an article that my editor titled “Why you should move on despite various negative incidents”.  On 11th of August, exactly one week after the article appeared here, the same article appeared elsewhere in a different local newspaper but not for the reasons you might be thinking of. The writer was not plagiarizing my article but instead, he was using it as raw material for his own column.

The Six Pack

The other day I met someone whose sense of humor is just on another level. We were talking about health and fitness, and how much people struggle to have a six-pack. Then from nowhere he said something that left everyone who heard him in guffaws, tears and rib aches. This is what he said, “You know what I have is a six-pack waiting to be properly arranged”Actually it is the way he said it and how he packed those words into that one statement that left everyone in stitches.

Rich Fools

While the former president of the USA was in South Africa recently, he gave a very inspiring and captivating speech to the over 15,000 people who had assembled for the Nelson Mandela 16thAnnual Lecture in Johannesburg. I have to say it was quite an amazing speech and as you know, his excellency Barack Obama is an excellent orator.

In The Face Of Hope

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I personally wish the DART buses were available in the whole of Dar Es Salaam. I have some hope that one day, we will have some operating between Bunju and Morocco. I say this because they literally save you hours, hours one would have spent stuck in unmoving and frustrating traffic. With those buses covering all major routes in Dar Es Salaam, productivity would increase by leap and bounds.

Empty Tank

I have to admit this last few weeks have been quite busy for me considering that I had exams going on, and as a result, I haven’t really been putting in a lot of focus on reading books like I did the first half of the year. Nevertheless, I am glad that so far I just finished my 27th book and I’m now on the 28th book in the ongoing #52BooksIn52Weeks2018 book reading challenge.
