Predator or Protector? Man or Manimal?

A couple of weeks ago I saw a clip on YouTube that was quite interesting. A Lioness was hunting and came upon a female ape. Unfortunately and as expected, the ape was no match for the ape and as a result, she became lunch for the Lioness and her family.  Sadly though, the ape had just given birth (hence her being slow and not being able to get away from the Lioness in time) and her young one was somewhere hidden inside a hole that was in a nearby tree.

Instruction Manuals

Today I’d like us to try and be honest with each other by answering this very simple question; how many of us take time to read manuals? Say for instance you buy a home appliance like an electric kettle. Do you take time to go through the manual before you start using the kettle, or do you assume you already know how to use a kettle and so you don’t need to read the manual?

Player or Slayer?

Most, if not all of you reading this article today, are somewhat familiar with Aesop’s fable of ‘The Hare and the Tortoise’, which goes like this:

To everyone’s shock, the Tortoise said quietly, “I accept your challenge.”

There’s so much power in having a positive attitude, positive mindset, and positive outlook.” ~ Stephanie Lahart

Don't Give in to Fear

Two seeds lay side by side in the fertile soil.

The first seed said, "I want to grow! I want to send my roots deep into the soil beneath me, and thrust my sprouts through the earth's crust above me ... I want to unfurl my tender buds like banners to announce the arrival of spring ... I want to feel the warmth of the sun on my face and the blessing of the morning dew on my petals!"

And so she grew...

Thorns or Roses?

So it’s the rainy season again, at least in Dar Es Salaam anyway, and with the rainy season comes all manner of mixed emotions. Some love the rain especially when it rains at night because it somehow soothes them to sleep, while others (like me) dislike it when it rains at night because it terrifies me.
